Job summary

GET Staff is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Hampshire depot-based team in Andover. The role focuses on electrical compliance across key equipment fleets, refurbishment support, and ensuring safety on-site and off-site.

The position is depot-based with a Monday–Friday pattern and no weekend work mentioned. Ideal candidates hold 18th Edition/BS 7671 and AM2 qualifications, possess strong communication skills, and can work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualification required.
• AM2 qualification required.
• Demonstrate safe working practices and organised approach.
• Good communication and ability to work independently and in a team.
• HVAC equipment service/installation experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist refurbishment of equipment across hire portfolio.
• Manage pump and heat exchanger fleet for electrical compliance and testing.
• Oversee telemetry fleet; train engineers in the field and coordinate with suppliers.
• Manage cable fleet ensuring safety compliance and asset tracking.
• Assist in development of flue dilution units.
• Support large on-site installations/de-installations as needed.
• Drive on-site and off-site safety and compliance.
• Supervise and support an electrician at the depot and network.

Pay: circa £50,000 per annum

Location: Andover, Hampshire (depot based)

Permanent

Electrical Engineer Company Overview:

Our client is a well-established national equipment hire business with a strong reputation for quality and service. From its Hampshire depot, its service and refurbishment team keeps a large fleet of specialist hire equipment safe, compliant and ready to go out. They are now looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the team and take ownership of electrical compliance across key equipment fleets.

Electrical Engineer Role and Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with the refurbishment of equipment across the hire portfolio
• Manage the pump and heat exchanger fleet for electrical compliance and testing, before and after hire
• Manage the telemetry fleet, keeping units ready for hire, training lead engineers in the field, working with the supplier and leading on new product development
• Manage the cable fleet, ensuring safety compliance and asset tracking of all equipment
• Manage and assist in the development of flue dilution units
• Assist with large on-site installations and de-installations where electrical works are required
• Be a key driver of on-site and off-site safety, ensuring compliance with all systems, procedures and processes
• Supervise and support an electrician on electrical works at the depot and across the wider network

Electrical Engineer Skills and Experience

• 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualification
• AM2 qualification
• Able to work safely, with a tidy, well-organised work ethic
• A "get it done right first time" attitude
• Good communication skills
• Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a large team
• Previous experience of HVAC equipment service, repair and installation is advantageous
• Experience of working in a fast-paced hire industry is advantageous
