Prime Appointments Ltd in Harwich is recruiting an Electrical Project Engineer to deliver electrical, instrumentation and control projects across the site from design to handover. The role requires managing LV systems, PLCs, DCS and coordinating with production, maintenance and SHEQ teams.

The ideal candidate has an electrical engineering background in an industrial environment and experience taking projects from design through to commissioning, with awareness of health & safety and COMAH

Qualifications

• Strong electrical engineering background in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Experience delivering electrical, instrumentation and control projects from design to handover.
• Knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems; ATEX/DSEAR experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical, instrumentation and control projects across the site from design through to installation and handover.
• Produce electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
• Manage LV systems, motor controls, PLCs, DCS and instrumentation.
• Support hazardous area installations and process safety requirements.
• Oversee contractors, suppliers, quotations, schedules and costs.
• Assist commissioning, validation and project handover with production teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards including COMAH.

Electrical Project Engineer | Harwich | Up to £55,000 per annum | Excellent benefits

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer to join an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Harwich.

This is a varied role within the engineering team, responsible for delivering electrical, instrumentation and control projects across the site, from initial design and specification through to installation, commissioning and handover.

The Role

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Managing electrical and EC&I projects, including plant modifications and new installations
• Producing electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation
• Working with LV systems, motor controls, PLCs, DCS and instrumentation
• Supporting hazardous area electrical installations and process safety requirements
• Managing contractors, suppliers, quotations, project schedules and costs
• Supporting commissioning, validation and project handover
• Working closely with Production, Maintenance, Operations and SHEQ teams
• Ensuring projects comply with relevant engineering, safety and regulatory standards, including COMAH requirements

The Person

The successful Electrical Project Engineer will ideally have:

• A strong electrical engineering background within an industrial, manufacturing or process environment
• Experience managing electrical engineering projects from design through to completion.
• Knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems
• Experience with PLCs, DCS or industrial control systems
• Experience with hazardous areas, ATEX/EN 60079 or DSEAR would be advantageous
• Experience managing contractors and external suppliers
• Knowledge of commissioning, plant modifications and project handover
• Good understanding of health & safety, RAMS and CDM requirements
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
