Job summary

Cross Rental Ltd. is seeking a Depot-Based Electrical Engineer to join our Andover team. You will take day-to-day responsibility for the electrical side of our large service yard and storage warehouses, ensuring equipment leaves the yard in safe, hire-ready condition.

The role involves refurbishing fleet components, managing electrical compliance, and overseeing telemetry and cable assets. Occasional travel to customer sites within the region is expected, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing, repairing or refurbishing HVAC equipment.
• Experience in a fast-paced hire or rental environment.
• Ability to lead a small team on site.

Responsibilities

• Manage continuous refurbishment of pumps, heat exchangers and related equipment.
• Own electrical compliance and testing for pump and heat exchanger fleet.
• Manage telemetry fleet, ensure units are hire-ready and train engineers.
• Oversee the cable fleet for safety compliance and asset control.
• Support development of Flue dilution units.
• Promote high standards of teamwork within the service team.
• Drive on-site safety and adherence to company procedures.
• Manage a small team across local depot and wider network.

We’re looking for a Depot-Based Electrical Engineer to join our Andover team and take day-to-day responsibility for the electrical side of our large service yard and storage warehouses.

This is a depot based role with occasional travel to customers sites within the region. Your focus will be the continuous management, refurbishment and compliance testing of our hire fleet so that equipment leaves the yard in perfect, safe condition and returns ready for the next customer.

Job Summary

You’ll be the go‑to electrical expert on site, keeping our fleet compliant, reliable and hire‑ready while supporting the wider engineering team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the continuous refurbishment of pumps, heat exchangers and other transactional equipment within the CRS portfolio


• Owning electrical compliance and testing procedures for the pump and heat exchanger fleet (pre- and post-hire)


• Managing the telemetry fleet – ensuring units are fully prepared for hire, training lead engineers, managing the supplier relationship, and supporting the development of new products in this area


• Managing the cable fleet to ensure full safety compliance, testing and accurate asset control


• Supporting the development and ongoing management of Flue dilution units


• Promoting high standards of teamwork across the service team


• Driving on‑site safety and ensuring full compliance with all company systems, procedures and processes


• Managing a small team to support electrical works across the local depot and wider network
