Job summary

Outsource UK Limited in Peterborough is seeking an electrically biased Electrical Designer to support the development of electrified machine demonstrators and prototypes.

You will own electrical design deliverables, create schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness definitions, and ensure seamless integration at machine level while collaborating with project, build and validation teams.

Qualifications

• Electrical design experience in product development
• Experience creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for machine/industrial systems
• Proficiency with Creo electrical harness design and documentation

Responsibilities

• Translate system requirements and component information into detailed electrical designs for electrified machine systems and subsystems.
• Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams and harness definitions with connectors, pinouts, cables and production drawings.
• Ensure electrical designs integrate effectively at machine level and resolve routing/interface/installation constraints.
• Collaborate with project, build and validation teams throughout the development process

Job Title: Electrical Designer

Client: Industry leading engineering/manufacturing company

Location: Peterborough

Hourly Rate: £29.28 PAYE or £38.49 Umbrella

Duration: 12 months

Working arrangements: Fully site based

About the role: My industry leading engineering and manufacturing client is looking for an electrically biased candidate to come in and support the development of electrified machine demonstrators and prototype machines. You will take ownership of electrical design deliverables and work collaboratively across disciplines to turn system requirements into practical, build-ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Translate system requirements and component information into detailed electrical designs for electrified machine systems and subsystems.
• Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams and harness definitions, covering connectors, terminals, pinouts, splices, cable and wire specification, 3D routing, flattening and production drawings.
• Ensure electrical designs integrate effectively at machine level, resolving routing, interface and installation constraints.
• Work closely with project, build and validation teams throughout the development process.

Key skills

• Electrical design experience within a product development environment, including machine or vehicle electrical systems.
• Experience creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, ideally for machine, vehicle, industrial or electrified systems.
• Proficiency in Creo, including electrical harness design, routing, drawings and supporting documentation.
