Job summary

Seismic Recruitment is seeking a Design Engineer - Electrification in Peterborough to support the development of electrified machine demonstrators and prototypes. The role is site-based, 12-month contract, with 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

You will combine mechanical and electrical design experience in a product development setting, using Creo to create models, drawings and documentation. You will work across packaging, integration and validation teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design within a product development environment.
• Experience in electrical design and integration, ideally with electrified systems.
• Proficiency in Creo and creating models, drawings and supporting documentation.
• Pragmatic, hands-on engineer who enjoys solving real-world problems.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced prototype environment with changing priorities.
• Self-motivated and able to take ownership with limited supervision.
• Strong communicator and collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Support concept and detailed design activities for electrified machine systems and subsystems.
• Develop and maintain engineering models, drawings and design documentation.
• Support mechanical packaging, electrical integration and machine-level design activities.
• Work closely with project, build and validation teams throughout development.
• Investigate technical issues and implement practical engineering solutions.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype builds and engineering change activities.
• Support machine build, commissioning and validation programmes as required.

Up to £26.93p/h PAYE plus holiday and pension contribution OR up to £36.56p/h Umbrella

The Electrification Development team is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the development of electrified machine demonstrators and prototype machines.
