Electrical Design Engineer

£37 - £39 per hour (Umbrella) + 12-Month Contract + Prototype Development + Cutting-Edge Electrification + Full Product Lifecycle Exposure

Peterborough (Commutable from: Stamford, Huntingdon, St Neots, March, Ely, Wisbech, Spalding, Cambridge)

Are you an Electrical Design Engineer with wiring harness and schematic design experience, looking to take real ownership of designs that go straight onto prototype machines? Do you want a technically challenging role in a small, agile engineering team where you'll solve real integration problems and see your work become functioning hardware? On offer is a unique opportunity to join a specialist electrification development environment, taking electrical designs from concept through machine integration, prototype build, commissioning and validation. You will be part of a highly collaborative, project-focused team working on next-generation electrified demonstrators, converting traditional platforms into advanced electric systems. As a result of continued programme demand, they are looking to add an experienced engineer to support multiple development activities. In this role you will produce schematics, wiring diagrams and harness designs, define connectors/terminals/pinouts, and create routing and installation designs in Creo, while supporting build and validation activities and resolving integration issues. This role would suit an Electrical Design Engineer from a machine/vehicle/industrial product development background looking for ownership, technical challenge, and end-to-end prototype development exposure.

The Role:

• Electrical design from requirements through to machine integration, prototype build and validation
• Schematics, wiring diagrams, harness design and controlled engineering documentation
• 3D routing, harness flattening, and installation design using Creo / Teamcenter
• On-site role, 37 hours per week, with up to 25% travel as required

The Person:

• Proven electrical design experience within a product development environment (machine/vehicle/industrial)
• Strong harness/schematics capability (connectors, terminals, pinouts, splices, routing, production drawings)
• Creo and Teamcenter proficiency for harness design and documentation
