Job summary

SSE is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its Quality team in a role based in Reading with a Flexible First, hybrid pattern. You’ll drive continuous improvement and support delivery of compliant, customer-focused services across a diverse project portfolio.

Responsibilities include quality reviews, risk identification and action planning, and process improvements to enhance efficiency. A degree in Engineering or an HNC with relevant experience and knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or HNC with significant industry experience in quality management or improvement projects.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ISO 9001:2015 knowledge advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience producing reports and KPIs within a regulated environment; reporting proficiency.
• Strong IT skills to analyse data and present to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify quality, compliance and operational risks and drive corrective actions.
• Conduct quality reviews of quotations and designs for accuracy and compliance.
• Support continual improvement of engineering processes to enhance quality and outcomes.
• Ensure quotations align with standards, policies and regulatory obligations.
• Provide assurance that quality management processes are applied and drive a culture of improvement across the business.
