Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd in Ashtead is seeking a Lead Design Engineer (Electrical Connections) to head a multi‑disciplined design team on high‑voltage utility projects. You will manage 5 direct reports, run Tier 1 Assurance and ensure assets from clients comply with standards and regulations.

The role offers hybrid working (2 days a week in Ashtead), progression opportunities, and a salary up to £74,000 plus up to 8% bonus, enhanced pension, private healthcare and 26 days holiday.

Qualifications

• Electrical design background at 33kV or above within a utility-scale environment.
• Management experience with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience with IDNO, ICP or DNO background ideal.

Responsibilities

• Lead a design team of 5 direct reports covering electric, gas and water.
• Run Tier 1 Assurance, ensuring adopted assets are compliant with standards and regulations.
• Carry out design reviews, issue technical approvals to developers and support construction partners.
• Hybrid working - 2-days a week in Ashtead.
