Job summary

Progressive Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a global engineering manufacturer in Clevedon. You will design electrical systems and sub-assemblies, produce schematics and CAD documentation, and support projects from concept to manufacture.

Working within a regulated environment, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement while delivering high‑quality engineering solutions and documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience designing electrical systems, schematics and cable assemblies.
• Experience using Electrical CAD packages such as AutoCAD Electrical.
• Understanding of electrical design principles and engineering documentation.
• Experience creating Bills of Materials and supporting technical documentation.
• Ability to work within project timescales and deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design and development of products, modules and sub–assemblies.
• Producing electrical schematics, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Cable assembly design and component selection.
• Bill of Materials (BoM) creation and maintenance.
• Supporting product development and engineering change activities.
• Collaborating with manufacturing and cross–functional engineering teams.
• Participating in design reviews and technical discussions.
• Supporting verification, testing and validation activities.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice.
• Supporting projects to agreed quality, cost and delivery targets.
