Job summary

Major Energy Onshore is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering company near Blaydon, just outside Newcastle upon Tyne. You will specify and estimate control panels from customer docs and site meetings, and generate electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.

The ideal candidate has an HNC or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, experience in designing and manufacturing industrial control panels, and strong PLC, CAD, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Educated to HNC level or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related subject.
• Experience in the design and manufacture of industrial control panels.
• Good knowledge of PLCs.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Capable of producing electrical schematic diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Highly computer literate with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD experience.
• Cost/benefit aware for component selection.

Responsibilities

• Specifying and estimating control panels from customer documentation and/or site meetings with clients.
• Generation of electrical schematic diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical software.
• Generation of Bills of Materials and other supporting documentation.
• Assistance with Manufacturing issues and compliance to relevant standards.
• Assistance with Factory Acceptance Tests.
• Generation of Operation and Maintenance files for completed projects.
