Job summary

Technical Network Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for a global manufacturer near the Birmingham area. You will design and support industrial control panels, producing wiring drawings, BOMs, and technical specs while ensuring compliance with design and safety standards.

Experience with AutoCAD Mechanical/Electrical and EPLAN is essential, along with strong MS Office skills. The role offers a salary up to £60,000 DOE and a site-based working arrangement in the Birmingham area.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Mechanical/Electrical and EPLAN.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and configure both standard and custom electrical wiring drawings, along with complete Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulatory, design, and testing requirements.
• Produce design documentation including drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure delivered solutions meet required performance standards.
• Provide technical guidance and promote best practices in industrial control panel design.
• Maintain compliance with applicable design and testing standards throughout project lifecycles.
• Develop and support test rigs, simulation models, and prototype control systems.
• Generate safety approval and sign-off documentation.
• Perform calculations in line with applicable standards (e.g. BS EN 13849) and demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant electrical standards (e.g. IEC 60204)
