Job summary

Vickerstock is recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer for a permanent role in County Down. You will take responsibility for the development and continual improvement of electrical systems for complex products, collaborating with Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and other disciplines.

You will design, develop and document electrical solutions from requirements through to production, specifying components and supporting manufacture with a practical, problem-solving approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in Electrical Design Engineering or a related role.
• Experience with electrical systems in engineering/manufacturing/product development.
• Ability to produce and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
• Knowledge of electrical components and practical electrical engineering.
• Experience using CAD software for design.
• Strong technical problem-solving ability.
• Able to work with Mechanical, Manufacturing and other engineering disciplines.
• Third-level qualification within Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for complex engineered products.
• Produce electrical schematics, drawings and documentation.
• Develop designs from initial requirements through to production-ready solutions.
• Specify and select electrical components and equipment.
• Develop and improve existing electrical designs to support product and engineering improvements.
• Work closely with Mechanical Design Engineers to ensure integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Provide technical support during manufacture and introduction of new designs.
• Investigate electrical design and production-related engineering issues.
• Support prototype development, testing and validation activities.
• Participate in engineering design reviews.
• Ensure designs meet safety and quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and support design changes throughout the product lifecycle.
