Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing manufacturer in the Westbury area. You will design control panels and electrical systems, producing accurate CAD drawings and communicating with the workshop to ensure manufacturability.

The role requires experience with control panels and electrical drawings; AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical or EPLAN experience is preferred. Salary 32,000–36,000 with training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience with control panels, panel wiring or electrical systems.
• Understanding of electrical control panel components.
• Experience producing or working from electrical schematics and drawings.
• Familiar with AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical (or EPLAN).
• Electrical Engineering qualifications are advantageous but not essential with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical schematics and control panel drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks Electrical.
• Develop electrical designs and drawings for control panels and related systems.
• Issue CAD drawings and technical information to the workshop.
• Collaborate with workshop to ensure designs are manufacturable.
• Review and update drawings as required.
• Support design and manufacture from initial requirements to completion.
• Apply existing knowledge to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
• Develop knowledge of the company's products and design processes.

Position: Electrical Design Engineer – Control Panels

Location: Westbury, Wiltshire

Salary: 32,000 – 36,000

Electrical Design Engineer required. Our client is a well–established and growing manufacturer of control panels based in the Westbury area. Due to the continued success they are looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to join their small and experienced engineering team.

It is anticipated the succesful candidate will have a good understanding of control panels and electrical systems, as well as experience using electrical CAD design packages.

Electrical Design Engineer – Control Panels – Position Overview

• Producing electrical schematics and control panel drawings using AutoCAD and Solidworks Electrical
• Developing electrical designs and drawings for control panels and associated systems
• Issuing accurate CAD drawings and technical information to the workshop
• Working closely with the workshop team to ensure designs are practical and can be manufactured correctly
• Reviewing and updating drawings where required
• Supporting the design and manufacture of control panels from initial requirements through to completion
• Using existing electrical and control–panel knowledge to identify and resolve design or manufacturing issues
• Developing knowledge of the company's products, systems and design processes

Electrical Design Engineer – Control Panels – Position Requirements

• Previous experience working with control panels, panel wiring, electrical controls or electrical systems
• Good practical understanding of electrical control panels and their components
• Ideally some previous experience producing or working from electrical schematics and drawings
• AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electricall experience or similar packages such as EPlan
• Electrical Engineering qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential where relevant practical experience is demonstrated
• Strong attention to detail and an accurate approach to technical work
• Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
• Good communication skills, particularly when working with workshop and engineering teams
• Based within a commutable distance of Westbury

Electrical Design Engineer – Control Panels – Position Remuneration

• Salary: 32,000 – 36,000 per annum, depending on experience
• Full–time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00
• Training and development on AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks Electrical
