Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a CAD Technician for their Westbury, Wiltshire operation. The role focuses on producing electrical schematics and control panel drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks Electrical, and developing electrical designs for panels and related systems.

You will issue accurate CAD drawings to the workshop, collaborate with workshop staff to ensure manufacturability, and update drawings as needed while supporting design and manufacture from initial concept

Qualifications

• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to learn electrical systems and control panels.

Responsibilities

• Producing electrical schematics and control panel drawings using AutoCAD and Solidworks Electrical
• Developing electrical designs and drawings for control panels and associated systems
• Issuing accurate CAD drawings and technical information to the workshop
• Working closely with the workshop team to ensure designs are manufacturable
• Reviewing and updating drawings where required
• Supporting the design and manufacture of control panels from initial requirements through to completion
• Using existing electrical and control-panel knowledge to identify and resolve design or manufacturing issues
• Developing knowledge of the company's products, systems and design processes

Position: CAD Technician

Location: Westbury, Wiltshire

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000

CAD Technician required. Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturer of control panels based in the Westbury area. Due to the continued success they are looking to recruit a CAD Technician to join their small and experienced engineering team.

It is anticipated the successful candidate will have previous experience with use of CAD software such as AutoCAD & Solidworks, and a willingness to learn electrical systems and control panels.

CAD Technician - Position Overview

• Producing electrical schematics and control panel drawings using AutoCAD and Solidworks Electrical
• Developing electrical designs and drawings for control panels and associated systems
• Issuing accurate CAD drawings and technical information to the workshop
• Working closely with the workshop team to ensure designs are practical and can be manufactured correctly
• Reviewing and updating drawings where required
• Supporting the design and manufacture of control panels from initial requirements through to completion
• Using existing electrical and control-panel knowledge to identify and resolve design or manufacturing issues
• Developing knowledge of the company's products, systems and design processes

CAD Technician - Position Requirements

• CAD Design experience using software such as AutoCAD or Solidworks
• Engineering qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential where relevant practical experience is demonstrated
• Strong attention to detail and an accurate approach to technical work
• Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
• Good communication skills, particularly when working with workshop and engineering teams
• Based within a commutable distance of Westbury
• Willingness to learn

CAD Technician - Position Remuneration

• Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum, depending on experience
• Full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:00
• Training and development on AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks Electrical
