Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Ltd is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a Glasgow-based building services consultancy. You will produce electrical designs, perform calculations, and develop schematics for care homes, hotels, and residential developments, collaborating with clients and other engineers.

You will use AutoCAD and Revit MEP, apply British Standards and Building Regulations, and contribute to energy-efficient, cost-conscious designs while supporting project deadlines and professional

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Good knowledge of relevant British Standards, IET regulations and Building Regulations.
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Experience with electrical design software and calculation packages such as Amtech, Dialux, Electrical OM.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical designs for building services projects from concept through to detailed design.
• Undertake electrical calculations, sizing and technical assessments.
• Develop electrical schematics, layouts, specifications and design documentation.
• Design systems including lighting, small power, LV distribution, fire alarm, emergency lighting, containment, earthing and lightning protection.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
• Attend design meetings, site visits and project inspections where required.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, schedules and tender documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance.

Electrical Design Engineer Building Services

A well-established, director-owned building services consultancy based in Glasgow, delivering high-quality M&E design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.
