Placements24 is seeking a highly capable Electrical Control Systems Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design, implement, and maintain PLC/HMI control systems for industrial automation, collaborating with a globally distributed team from your home office.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics and 7+ years of PLC/HMI experience (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000) with strong diagnostics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 7+ years designing and implementing industrial control systems.
  • Experience with PLC programming and HMI/SCADA interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial networks and VFDs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement PLC/HMI-based control systems for industrial projects.
  • Program, test, and commission control logic across multiple platforms.
  • Specify components and instrumentation for optimal performance.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, P&IDs, and docs.
  • Provide remote support and diagnostics with minimal downtime.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly capable Electrical Control Systems Engineer to join their innovative team, offering a fully remote work opportunity. This role is central to designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated control systems that optimize industrial processes and machinery. You will be responsible for developing PLC logic, HMI interfaces, and integrating various control components to achieve seamless automation. Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement PLC and HMI-based control systems for industrial automation projects.
  • Program, test, and commission control logic using various platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, or Mitsubishi.
  • Specify and select control components, sensors, actuators, and instrumentation for optimal system performance.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive control system documentation, including electrical schematics, P&IDs, and functional descriptions.
  • Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for installed control systems, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define control system requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing and implementing industrial control systems.
  • Expertise in programming PLCs (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000) and developing HMI/SCADA interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Ethernet/IP) and VFDs.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and diagnostic skills for complex automation challenges.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote engineering role .
