Job summary

Mott MacDonald is looking for an Electrical Building Services Engineer to join our expanding Energy Networks team. You will contribute to the delivery of building services designs for energy infrastructure and industrial facilities, working within multidisciplinary project teams.

You will gain exposure to substations, converter stations and other energy infrastructure projects while developing sustainable and technically robust engineering solutions in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Postgraduate experience in building services design.
• Experience in building services projects within infrastructure, industrial, utilities, energy, or commercial sectors.
• Understanding HVAC, mechanical and electrical building services systems.
• Ability to prepare technical documentation and engineering calculations.
• Familiarity with industry-standard design software and tools.
• Understanding of relevant UK standards and regulations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive approach to learning and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of building services designs for energy infrastructure and industrial facilities.
• Prepare calculations, reports, specifications and technical documentation.
• Develop design drawings, layouts and schematics for HVAC and electrical systems.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, protection and control teams.
• Contribute to sustainable, energy-efficient building services solutions.
• Assist with site visits, surveys and inspections.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and company procedures.
• Participate in client and internal project meetings.
