Job summary

The NICEIC is seeking experienced Area Engineers in South Wales to deliver electrotechnical scheme assessments. You will assess certified contractors, support compliance, and build trusted relationships while promoting NICEIC services.

You will conduct scheduled assessments, make recommendations on approval or certification, mentor new engineers, and follow the Safety Policy. A strong electrical background and BS 7671 knowledge, plus a full driving licence, are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in electrical installations with knowledge of BS 7671.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good organisational skills and time management.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Complete a weekly programme of NICEIC assessment visits.
• Assess contractors against electrical industry standards.
• Assess applicants for scheme certification and visit other areas when needed.
• Make assessment recommendations on approval, continued certification, deferment, or rejection.
• Build strong relationships with NICEIC customers and provide high-quality service.
• Support training and mentoring of newly appointed Area Engineers when required.
• Work in accordance with the NICEIC Health and Safety Policy and related procedures.
