Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivatedElective Care Training and Validation Manager to support the delivery of high-quality elective access services across the Trust.

This is a key role within the Elective Access Team, supporting the delivery of national 18-week Referral to Treatment standards, improving waiting list management, and strengthening data quality across elective pathways. The post holder will work closely with operational, clinical, administrative, information and training teams to ensure patient pathways are managed safely, consistently and effectively.

The successful candidate will lead and support the RTT validation and training team, oversee routine validation processes, provide expert advice on elective access and RTT rules, and deliver high-quality training to staff across the organisation. They will also play an important role in identifying pathway risks, escalating issues, supporting service improvement, and helping teams to understand and use elective care data to improve patient care.

This role would suit someone with strong knowledge of elective access, RTT pathway management and waiting list processes, alongside excellent communication, analytical and leadership skills. You will need to be confident working across services, supporting change, and helping teams deliver safe, timely and patient-focused care., This role provides day-to-day leadership for the Trust's elective care training and RTT validation functions, supporting safe, timely and well-managed patient pathways. You will oversee routine RTT validation, monitor inpatient and outpatient PTLs, elevate pathway risks, data quality issues and potential breaches, and work with operational, clinical, administrative and information teams to ensure elective access standards are understood and applied consistently.

You will lead the corporate RTT validation and training team, develop and deliver training, support RTT super users, analyse performance and waiting list data, produce reports, support audits and identify improvement opportunities. Acting as a key contact for elective access and 18-week RTT queries, you will support service improvement, governance and robust pathway management.

The role requires strong communication, analytical, leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across services.
