Job summary

UK Power Networks is seeking an EHV Construction Project Engineer – SAP to deliver engineering activities within their project team in the Kent region. You will work under the Lead Project Engineer and construction manager to deliver Capital works and asset programming.

The role requires distribution expertise across 400V to 132kV, HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and strong safety and procurement capabilities. A driving licence and willingness to work with contractors are essential.

Qualifications

• Senior Authorised Person as defined by the Distribution Safety Rules
• Experience in distribution systems through 400V to 132kV
• Educated to a minimum HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Working knowledge of distribution HV Systems
• Knowledge of Building Services Systems
• Read schematic drawings and understand content
• Hold full driving licence
• Use Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, MS Project and other custom software packages
• Knowledge of Construction Design and Management Regulations
• Awareness of UK Power Networks directorates
• Negotiating and influencing skills
• Time management and meeting deadlines
• Decision-making capability and judgement

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily construction and maintenance activities with Client/Principal Contractor ensuring programmes are met
• Collaborate with Outage Planning and Control centre on circuit outages planning
• Manage site work as an AP/SAP and oversee procurement steps including quotations and POs
