Job Summary

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, is a global manufacturer of switchgear and related products for mission-critical and commercial buildings, including data centers and headquarters of major corporations. We are seeking to hire an EHS Manager, based in Blackburn or Kendal, England. Reporting to the General Manager, the EHS Manager will oversee the implementation of Environmental Health & Safety programs across offices and manufacturing sites, ensuring compliance with company and government standards.

What a typical day looks like:
  1. Overall responsibility for EHS across UK Operations

  2. Communicating legislative duties and implications

  3. Reporting EHS matters to the Senior Management Team

  4. Distributing and communicating health, safety, and welfare information from regulatory bodies and safety organizations

  5. Establishing and promoting safety training programs and safety culture among employees

  6. Ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures

  7. Developing departmental vision, culture, and work standards

  8. Implementing Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental strategies and goals

  9. Managing Organisational Management Systems (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001)

  10. Creating and executing EHS strategies and processes to enhance business performance

  11. Reviewing and approving EHS activities for effective issue resolution

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
  • Relevant degree and experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing or construction

  • Thorough knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards

  • Experience working with and communicating with subcontractors

  • Membership in IOSH or NEBOSH

  • Ability to advise on EHS issues and lead daily activities

  • Full driving license (required for site travel)

  • Excellent communication, organization, and initiative skills

  • Meticulous work methods and ability to follow up on corrective actions
