Job description

The Claims Vendor Management Function is responsible for acquiring services from external vendors to support the delivery of the Chubb Claims service and managing those vendor relationships.

Our team supports the international business within Chubb, known as COG, which includes four regions: Europe, Middle East & Africa; South & Central America; Asia, Australia & New Zealand; and Japan.

Our team is multifaceted. No day is the same: responsibilities include overseeing contract negotiations, reviewing vendor performance metrics, coordinating with internal stakeholders on business requirements, conducting due diligence for onboarding new vendors, evaluating vendor proposals, terminating vendor relationships, and managing run-off.

This role offers the opportunity to be a central part of our team, working on diverse matters, collaborating with Chubb’s legal teams, global colleagues, vendors, and external clients. It’s ideal for someone with a legal background looking to transition into a dynamic commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Report directly to the Vice President, COG Claims Vendor Management.
  • Support COG Vendor Management and legal teams by drafting agreements, interpreting contract language, and resolving disputes.
  • Manage Claims Vendor Templates, Guidelines, and other governance documents, including issue logs.
  • Draft and update Vendor Management policies and circulate revisions.
  • Ensure Vendor Management Compliance per internal legal, risk, compliance, and information security guidelines, acting as an interface with these functions, including global teams.
  • Handle essential communications and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the escalation point for systemic vendor issues from regions.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior stakeholders, including sensitive material, to inform decision-making.
  • Provide technical support for vendor performance management, benchmarking, KPI analysis, and invoice review processes.
  • Monitor industry trends to identify new vendor management practices for potential adoption.
  • Report on strategic vendor reviews, including performance against contractual SLAs and issue tracking.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified lawyer in the UK with 5+ years PQE.
  • Claims handling experience.
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones.
  • Understanding of contract agreements, terms, and conditions.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop creative, customer-focused solutions.
  • Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance concepts.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to produce accurate documentation within strict deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn, and team-oriented.
  • Maintains confidentiality and integrity.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to build credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (charts, pivot tables).
