Job Summary
The Senior Research Administrator reports to the Cardiovascular Research Operations Director. The role provides senior administrative support to the Senior Management Team in LBRC CV Theme, including the Clinical Theme Lead, Cardiovascular Research Operations Director, and deputies.
Main Duties
- Provide general Personal Assistant support to the CV Theme Lead and Cardiovascular Research Operations Director.
- Arrange, attend, and produce high-quality, comprehensive minutes of meetings.
- Line manage, supervise, support, and develop the Administrators within the theme.
- Organise travel arrangements for national and local visits for the management team.
- Maintain and set up finance and invoice trackers.
- Assist the Cardiovascular Research Operations Director with financial management of clinical trials, from study opening to close down.
- Assist with trial financial tracking spreadsheets for all new trials.

Job Responsibilities
- Work independently to manage diary commitments, acting as the first contact for the LBRC CV Team.
- Monitor and update the Appraisal database, upload data to ESR, and remind managers of upcoming appraisals.
- Arrange, attend, and produce minutes of meetings, ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
- Supervise administrative duties related to written and electronic records.
- Line manage, support, and develop administrative staff within the theme.
- Manage finance and invoice trackers, liaising with finance and research staff as needed.
- Assist with financial management of clinical trials, including invoicing and handling financial queries.
Person Specification
Training and Qualifications (Essential)
- 4 GCSEs or equivalent including English
- Willingness to undertake training on departmental computer systems
- Recognised administrative qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3) or equivalent experience
Desirable Qualifications
- GCP Training
- Experience with NHS IT and patient information systems
- Qualification in Accountancy or similar
Experience (Essential)
- Administrative experience in healthcare
- Supervisory or managerial experience with junior staff
- Senior-level minute-taking experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of medical/scientific terminology
