Job description

Job Description

As an HR Business Partner at the COS Buying Office, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping a people-first culture that empowers creativity and drives performance. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the implementation of impactful people strategies and initiatives that align with our broader vision.

Acting as a trusted advisor to our leaders, you’ll provide expert advice and guidance operationally to ensure the HR practices not only support business goals but also inspire growth, collaboration, and innovation across the team. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference—where people and purpose come together.

Our Buying Office is the creative heart of our brand, bringing together over 150 talented professionals across buying, design, pattern making, production, and controlling. Together, this dynamic team is responsible for shaping our entire collection—from the first spark of an idea to the final products available to the customer.

It’s a place where creativity meets strategy, where every detail matters, and where your work directly influences what our customers wear and love. If you're passionate about fashion, innovation, and collaboration, this is where your ideas can truly come to life.

In this role, you'll enjoy some flexibility to work remotely on certain tasks. However, given the high level of cross-department collaboration, you'll primarily spend your time in our fantastic office.

What you will do:
  1. Collaborate and support our leaders by leading the way on workforce planning, staffing priorities, talent needs analysis, and succession planning.
  2. Foster a high-performing, growth-oriented organizational culture aligned with strategic objectives.
  3. Shape employee relations and identify risks in fast-moving or crisis situations, making people-first decisions.
  4. Monitor HR metrics (staff turnover, illness rate, onboarding/training time, quality, and costs) and ensure quality feedback processes.
  5. Ensure colleagues receive quality performance reviews and that training and development needs are met.
  6. Partner, coach, guide and train to influence performance and provide strong leadership.
  7. Proactively address employee inquiries, concerns, and relations matters.
  8. Advocate for our values, uphold policies, encourage an inclusive culture, and act as a neutral escalation point for colleague grievances.
Qualifications

Alignment to our company values is the most important characteristic we look for in all new joiners. Our values are the behaviors that we appreciate above and beyond anything else. We are open-minded and curious, we dare to be different, we believe in constant improvement, and we empower and trust you to take ownership. Our values are part of who we are, what we stand for and how we act.

What you need to succeed:

  • Strong leadership and management skills to foster a high-performing culture.
  • Experience and expertise in shaping employee relations and resolving conflicts.
  • Experience in workforce planning and talent needs analysis.
  • Experience in monitoring and analysing HR metrics.
  • Ability to conduct and guide quality performance reviews and identify training needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of labour laws and ability to uphold company policies.
  • Experience in training and delivering training programs.
Additional Information

This is a full-time permanent contract.

Benefits

We offer attractive benefits with extensive development opportunities worldwide. All employees receive a 25% staff discount on all H&M Group brands. Additionally, employees are included in our H&M Incentive Program – HIP. UK-based colleagues also receive:

  • Up to 25 days holiday
  • Annual health checks
  • Pension scheme
  • Discounts on activities and financial/lifestyle products
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Employee assistance via retail trust
  • Private health & dental care
