A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WASTEWATER MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

As a Wastewater Maintenance Supervisor, you will supervise and monitor employee performance. Your interactions and communications may lead to recommendations on policy development and implementation. You must be adaptable and ready to handle unexpected challenges that arise in the city. This role requires practical technical knowledge, analytical judgment, and decision-making skills suitable for the organization. When not out in the field, you will oversee training of new personnel, plan, organize, and assign work details for crews. You enjoy helping others and support other divisions within the department as needed. Your skills in maintaining utility systems and your genuine enjoyment of the work make you an ideal candidate for this role.

Qualifications for a Wastewater Maintenance Supervisor

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Community college, vocational, technical, or correspondence school certificates are preferred.
• At least three (3) years of experience in sewer utilities maintenance and construction. Five (5) years' experience is preferred.
• At least three (3) years of supervisory or foreman experience.
• Valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety is required. A valid class "B" CDL with a satisfactory driving record is preferred.
• Must possess a Wastewater Collection Class III license from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the city's expense.
