Job summary

Autodesk Education Experiences (AEX) seeks a Software Development Engineer to build education-focused product experiences across Autodesk platforms. You will implement backend services, APIs, and integrations, moving quickly from prototype to production while balancing speed and quality.

You will collaborate with ML/AI, frontend, and platform teams to productize solutions, build automation and SDKs for CAD tools, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with full-stack development workflows and front-end familiarity (JavaScript, React/Next.js).
• Ability to utilise AI coding tools for increased velocity.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and version control (Git).
• Proven ability to integrate with CI/CD pipelines and maintain testable, maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Implement backend services, APIs, integrations, and product infrastructure supporting education features and platform experiences.
• Move quickly from prototype to production while balancing speed, quality, and maintainability.
• Integrate and productize ML/AI solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Build and maintain automation, plugins or SDKs for CAD platforms and tooling for reproducible experiments and delivery.
• Collaborate across product and engineering boundaries including frontend integration, data pipelines, and service orchestration.
• Contribute to CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and containerized deployments (Docker).
• Write robust, well-tested code, participate in code reviews and design discussions, and follow security best practices.
• Work with product managers, designers, researchers, ML engineers, and platform teams to ship features from ambiguous problems.
• Document designs, APIs, runbooks, and hand-off materials; onboard other engineers.
• Promote reproducible engineering practices and knowledge sharing.
