Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build education-focused product experiences across platforms. You will work on backend services, integrations, automation, ML/AI features, and CAD plugins, driving from concept to launch with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes ownership, rapid delivery, and collaboration with product managers, designers, and ML engineers to ship reliable features at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with full-stack workflows and front-end tech (JavaScript, React/Next.js).
• Able to utilise AI coding tools for increased velocity.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and version control (Git).
• Proven ability to integrate with CI/CD pipelines and maintain testable code.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with product managers, designers and engineers.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Write production-quality code and maintain connections between systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to deliver education features.
• Move ideas from exploration through implementation, launch, and iteration.
• Develop backend services APIs and platform infrastructure for education features.
• Integrate and productize ML/AI solutions with design and platform teams.
• Build automation, plugins or SDKs for CAD platforms and tooling.
• Work across product and engineering boundaries including CI/CD, Docker, and observability.
• Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and security best practices.
• Document designs, runbooks, and onboarding materials for new engineers.
