Job summary

The University of Birmingham is seeking a dedicated administrator to lead a Professional Services team providing excellent support for students and staff. You will manage teaching-and-learning related activity and work closely with academic leads and the PS network to deliver high-quality service across your area.

You will recruit and develop staff, promote equality, and ensure timely reporting and service improvements within a dynamic university environment.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent, with progression evidence.
• A Level or equivalent.
• Significant practical experience in a senior administrative role within a customer service-based environment.
• Experience in staff development and motivation.
• Ability to lead, communicate across levels, and manage staff with deadlines.
• Familiarity with University procedures is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics and how to apply it.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a Professional Services team delivering administrative support for students and staff.
• Oversee the delivery of teaching and learning related activity within your service area.
• Collaborate with senior academic educational leads and the Professional Services network.
• Recruit, line manage, and develop staff; promote equality and inclusive culture.
• Ensure quality assurance, data checking methodologies and timely reporting.
