Job description

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Middleton is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN EYFS Teacher to join their team. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for young children with additional needs, supporting their academic, social, emotional and developmental progress. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences for EYFS pupils, adapting teaching and activities to meet individual SEN needs. You will work closely with teaching assistants, the SENCO and wider school team to provide personalised support and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.,

• Plan and deliver engaging EYFS lessons and activities tailored to individual needs.
• Adapt learning activities to support children with a range of additional needs.
• Assess, monitor and track children's progress and development.
• Support communication, social development, emotional regulation and independence.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Work closely with SENCOs, teaching assistants and other professionals.
• Develop positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Support the implementation of individual support plans and EHCP outcomes where appropriate.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage children's confidence and independence.
  Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Has experience teaching within EYFS or a primary school setting.
• Has experience supporting or teaching children with SEN.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
• Confident adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
• Patient, nurturing, resilient and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
• Confident with classroom and behaviour management.
• Has the right to work in the UK and is available full-time.

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience working within an SEN or specialist provision.
• Experience supporting children with ASC, communication needs or developmental needs.
• Knowledge of visual timetables, PECS, Makaton or other communication strategies.
• Experience working towards EHCP outcomes.
