West Sussex County Council is seeking an Adviser in the Safeguarding in Education Team to audit education settings and evaluate safeguarding culture. You will discuss with children and staff to inform school policy decisions and share audit findings with the team leader and stakeholders.

You will guide on safeguarding frameworks, respond to concerns, and provide training to diverse educational stakeholders while maintaining data confidentiality and contributing to service improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree, or equivalent qualification or experience.
• Advanced technical knowledge and understanding of all relevant areas of work including practical applied knowledge gained by on the job experience in safeguarding.
• Knowledge of systems, procedures, policies and relevant legislation in safeguarding operations.
• Understanding of integrated working and the role of safeguarding leads and other professionals.
• Knowledge and experience of providing safeguarding advice or direction within an educational setting.
• Detailed knowledge of statutory procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding.
• Commitment to continuing professional development and applying skills to improve outcomes for children.

Responsabilités

• Provide guidance on safeguarding frameworks and respond to safeguarding concerns and complaints.
• Develop solutions and recommendations for schools following audits.
• Provide training on safeguarding frameworks to a wide range of stakeholders.
• Analyse and interpret complex and sensitive data while maintaining confidentiality.
• Contribute to projects and reviews, balancing risks with rewards.
