Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Safeguarding and Compliance Officer within the Education Effectiveness team. You will deliver safeguarding training for education settings and work with LADO and social care to keep children safe.

The role requires knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence policy and practice. DBS check is required; flexible working options may be discussed.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher education or relevant professional development.
• Knowledge of child protection/safeguarding per Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025; considerable experience with children/families.
• Experience working with schools and related agencies; liaising with staff with significant responsibilities.
• Experience planning and delivering training for diverse audiences; able to work independently.
• Ability to handle sensitive issues with diplomacy and knowledge of statutory education policy.
• Impactful approach to safeguarding and policy/practice improvements.
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills; energetic and flexible.
