Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding and Compliance Officer to join the Education Effectiveness team. You will contribute to keeping children safe by delivering training and providing compliance support across education settings.

Applicants should have a degree or higher and substantial safeguarding experience, plus strong communication skills and the ability to work with schools and partner agencies. Flexible/hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher education or relevant professional development with analytical skills
• Knowledge of safeguarding in education and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025
• Experience working with schools and other agencies on safeguarding
• Experience planning and delivering training for diverse audiences
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

• Deliver safeguarding training for education settings and staff
• Provide compliance support within Children and Families Services
• Liaise with schools, LADO and social care to safeguard children
• Use diplomacy and tact when handling sensitive safeguarding issues
