SENse Learning is seeking Education Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for young people with SEND, across Education Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant, and Learning Support Mentor roles. Sessions occur in the home and community, using our curriculum based on EHCP areas to support holistic development.

You will help build confidence, emotional regulation, and essential life skills alongside academics, with safeguarding and DBS processes in place.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA, trauma, PDA, mental health)
• Background: Suitable for roles like Support Worker, Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Personal Assistant, or related care/education background
• Approach: child-centred, holistic methods to adapt curriculum to individual learners
• Enhanced DBS (we can assist) and 2+ professional references
• Location: UK-based with right to work in the UK, even for remote/online work
• Safeguarding: knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
• We welcome mentors from diverse backgrounds

Responsabilités

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people facing challenges in education
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities
• Support development of life skills, confidence and independence
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies for varied needs
• Model emotional regulation and encourage its use
• Provide feedback and reflections to track progress and adapt support
