Job summary

NELFT NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner to join the South-West Essex MHST in Basildon, delivering evidence-based, low‑intensity interventions for children and young people aged 5–18 within educational settings.

The role involves assessments, care planning, and working with schools, families and education colleagues to implement plans and improve mental health outcomes. Flexible working and robust supervision are provided.

Qualifications

• Completion of the HEE/NHSE Education Mental Health Practitioner or Children's Wellbeing Practitioner course.
• Registration with BABCP or BPS as a low intensity practitioner, or in the process of applying.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat Children and Young People under MHST core functions: targeted intervention, whole school approach, and consultation and liaison.
• Collaborate with schools to deliver core components with a set number of schools.
• Participate in local and county meetings and supervision forums.
