Job summary

Amey is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager for the Glasgow Schools Account to lead a ~50-strong cleaning team and ensure high standards of service delivery across multiple schools. The role involves supporting the Operations Manager, driving engagement, and maintaining contractual KPIs within a dynamic education environment.

We welcome applicants with strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, plus an IOSH Managing Safely qualification or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Strong people management and leadership skills.
• Experience managing large operational teams within facilities/cleaning or soft services.
• Experience with attendance, welfare and employee relations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Operations Manager in the day-to-day running of the Glasgow Schools Account.
• Lead and develop a team of approximately 50 cleaning operatives, ensuring engagement and service delivery.
• Drive operational excellence across multiple school sites, meeting KPIs and contracts.
• Build strong relationships with school leadership teams and key stakeholders.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain quality standards.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, training and deployment.
