Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is working with a specialist engineering company in Bedford to recruit an EDM Operative. You will programme, set and operate EDM machinery to produce high-precision components for aerodynamic research and testing.

The role offers day shifts (7am-3pm) with £38,000 - £40,000 salary, overtime and shift premiums, plus training, private health insurance and 26 days holiday (+ BH). Join a highly skilled team delivering components to tight tolerances and demanding

Qualifications

• Experience as an EDM Machinist/Operative.
• Proficient with Wire EDM and Sinker EDM.
• Time-served or fully skilled engineering background.
• Able to work to tight tolerances and project deadlines.

Excellent opportunity for an experienced EDM Machinist to join a specialist engineering company, working on unique, high-precision components used for aerodynamic research and testing.

This is a hands-on role within a highly skilled manufacturing team, where you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating EDM machinery to produce bespoke components to tight tolerances and demanding project schedules.

The company operates a highly specialised engineering facility, working on complex projects for major organisations across the aerospace and engineering sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced EDM Operative to join their team.

The Role:

• Programming, setting and operating Wire and Sinker EDM machines
• Producing high-precision components from engineering drawings
• Working to tight tolerances, quality standards and project deadlines
• Supporting other machining disciplines including milling, turning, grinding and assembly when required

The Person:

• Proven experience as an EDM Machinist/EDM Operative
• Experience with both Wire EDM and Sinker/Plunge EDM
• Time-served or fully skilled engineering background
• Multi-skilled machining experience would be advantageous
