MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Working within the Configuration Management team in Service Management in Technology , the Configuration Management Specialist will be responsible for defining and controlling configuration information for components of services and infrastructure that make Technology systems. The Configuration Management Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate information on the planned, current and historical state of the components of services and infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be responsible for Configuration Management across MUFG’s banking arm and securities business under a dual-hat arrangement. Under this arrangement, you will act and make decisions on behalf of both the bank and the securities business, subject to the same remit and level of authority, and irrespective of the entity which employs you.

• Develop and maintain the CMDB contents for accuracy.

• Develop and maintain process for ensuring CMDB contents are accurate and current.

• Define and maintain relationships between Configuration Items (CIs).

• Develop and maintain ServiceNow Discovery schedules and configuration.

• Collaborate with Change Management; Capacity Management; Availability Management; Release Management; Incident Management teams to ensure those functions are able to use CMDB information most effectively.

• Contribute to the development of the Configuration Management strategy, processes and policy to ensure that Configuration Management remains current and effective.

• Some evening and weekend working will be required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Work Experience

• Experience in managing CMDB within in a financial institution essential.

• Experience of maintaining CMDB data using ServiceNow Discovery essential.

• Experience of maintaining CMDB data using ServiceNow Service Mapping beneficial.

• Experience of working in a complex technical environment essential.

• Experience of working in a highly regulated industry that adheres strictly to audit processes and procedures essential.

Functional / Technical Competencies:

• Demonstrable knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery.

• Excellent written and verbal skills, and must be able to document and articulate to others key issues in the infrastructure arena.

• Able to drive problem resolution through the appropriate escalation channels.

• Able to confidently participate in white board type design and review sessions.

• Able to evaluate and understand new products within the team’s scope.

• A team player, approachable and flexible but also able to work independently.

• Contribute to building a culture of a service excellence, always putting the customer, our people and our business at the center of everything undertaken.

Education / Qualifications:

• Degree Educated (preferably Computer Science or similar) and/or similar work experience.
