Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust in Lancaster is seeking a Clinical Support Worker to join the Emergency Department at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. The role is Band 3, 37.5 hours per week on a 6-month fixed term basis with day, night, and weekend shifts.

Experience in acute care is welcome but not essential as training will be provided; duties include patient care under RN guidance, minor injuries, and contributing to streaming and rapid assessment at the front door.

Qualifications

• Willingness to undertake NVQ level 2 in care related area
• Basic literacy & numeracy skills
• Experience in manual handling of patients (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and assistance to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Advanced Nurse Practitioners
• Provide basic patient care and document in patient records
• Perform clinical observations
• Provide minor injury treatments and plaster casts
