Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Maternity Support Worker (NHS AfC Band 3) at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Lancaster. This part-time post (30 hours per week) includes day and night shifts, weekends and public holidays pro rata.

You will support women, babies and families along the maternity journey under supervision, delivering compassionate, safe, woman-centred care.

Qualifications

2 years experience with families or in maternity care.
Experience working in the NHS.
5 GCSEs Grade C/5 including English and Maths or equivalent.
Care Certificate and MSW Level 2/3 competencies.
Level 3 NVQ/BTEC/A-Levels.

Responsibilities

Create effective relationships with women and families to provide personalised, safe care.
Engage with patients to meet requirements with respect, privacy and dignity.
Provide high-quality personalised care in line with local and national standards.
Support the adaptation to parenthood.
Obtain valid consent and document actions clearly.
