Job summary

UHMB is recruiting for a Clinical Support Worker to join the Emergency Department at Royal Lancaster Infirmary in Lancaster. This NHS AfC Band 3 fixed-term post (6 months) offers 37.5 hours per week across day, night, and weekend shifts, with both full-time and part-time options.

The role supports Registered Nurses and Advanced Nurse Practitioners, delivering basic patient care, documenting records, performing clinical observations, minor injury treatments, and plaster casts.

Qualifications

• Willingness to undertake NVQ level 2 in care related area.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Manual handling of patients.

Responsibilities

• Work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and the Advanced Nurse Practitioners ( ANPs ) providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the Registered Nurse.
• Provide basic patient care and document that care in the patient records.
• Clinical observations
• Minor injury treatments and plaster casts
