Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust has a vacancy for a Non Clinical Support Worker on Ward 36 at Royal Lancaster Infirmary in Lancaster. The role is part-time 22.5 hours per week on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, with duties focused on supporting clinical care delivery and ensuring a clean, safe ward environment.

You will collaborate with ward staff to coordinate patient facilities, assist with bed making and feeding where needed, and help maintain privacy, dignity and comfort

Qualifications

• Experience within a care environment.
• Experience supporting patients with diet and fluids.
• Ability to keep a clean and tidy environment supporting patient safety.
• Ability to support patients with diet and nutrition.

• To support clinical care delivery.
• To co-ordinate all patient facilities services within the ward area.
• To ensure that the ward is a safe, clean, tidy and comfortable environment.
• Ensure that food is available to meet the patients’ needs.
• Assist the ward staff to receive, welcome and guide patients and visitors onto the ward.
• Assist in daily bed making.
• Assist in the preparation of bed areas on discharge of patients.
• Assist nursing staff with the feeding of patients who are unable to do so for themselves and complete food charts where necessary.
• Ensure all patients are afforded privacy and dignity throughout their stay.
• Respond to health emergencies as appropriate.
