Job summary

Ecoleg is an ecological consultancy based in Wales seeking a Project, Operations & Resourcing Manager (Ecology) to own the operational planning, invoicing and compliance for field teams across concurrent contracts. You will manage salaried and freelance ecologists, coordinate licensing, and act as the main client contact on delivery.

The role offers flexible, largely home-based working within a decentralised team across Wales, with six-month and annual salary reviews and a clear path to broader

Qualifications

• Experience in resourcing, operations, supply chain or project coordination — ideally within infrastructure, construction, environmental or professional services.
• Confident owning commercial administration, including invoicing, supplier costs and budget tracking, without a dedicated finance team.
• Proven effectiveness in a fast-paced, changeable environment, with the ability to reprioritise quickly and remain effective when plans move.
• Highly organised, with sound judgement across competing demands.
• Comfortable working independently within a decentralised, remote-first team.
• Clear, direct communicator, confident raising issues and following things up.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule field teams across concurrent contracts, balancing licensing, competency and geography.
• Manage freelance ecologist network: sourcing, onboarding, rate agreement and performance.
• Own invoicing end to end, ensuring completed work is billed accurately and on time.
• Maintain licensing, insurance and compliance records to audit-ready standards.
• Act as day-to-day client contact on scheduling and delivery.
• Develop systems and processes to support a growing business.
