Data Centre Shift Technician – £58,000 – West London – Continental Shift Pattern

We’re hiring an experienced Data Centre Shift Technician to join a high-profile critical environment in West London. This full-time, permanent role operates on a continental shift pattern (24/7 cover), offering a competitive salary of £58,000.

As part of a dedicated on-site team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and infrastructure delivery within a major data centre environment. You will support infrastructure requests, monitor critical systems, and help ensure compliance with stringent client SLAs and KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out installation, patching, racking, stacking, decommissioning, and general hardware tasks.
• Monitor and escalate issues using tools such as SCADA, BMS, VESDA, Fireworks, and Netcool.
• Actively manage workflows using ServiceNow and e-permit/TCM systems.
• Work in line with health & safety and data centre standards to ensure all plant, comms, and data halls remain clean, operational, and secure.
• Support incident response, infrastructure changes, and ongoing maintenance under the guidance of the Shift Leader and Infrastructure Manager.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation including timesheets, stock records, and maintenance logs.
• Maintain a professional image, ensure clear communication with clients, and promote a customer-focused attitude on site.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in a data centre or critical environment operations role.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, hardware installation, and structured cabling.
• Comfortable working shifts (both day and night) as part of a 24/7 operation.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and workflow management systems.
