We are seeking a fully experienced Associate Electrical Design Engineer based in our London office. The successful candidate will inspire others and be responsible for managing major projects.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Manage major projects, leading the development, design, and coordination of engineering services for Mechanical or Electrical installations across various building types.
  2. Conduct cost and profit analysis, feasibility studies, and bid preparations.
  3. Review project status reports and adjust schedules or plans as needed; prepare reports for management and clients.
  4. Develop and specify control systems, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services.
  5. Survey, test, and report on existing electrical and mechanical installations.
  6. Specify activities ensuring manufacturing, construction, installation, and testing meet specifications and customer requirements.
  7. Represent the company at technical meetings with clients, professional teams, and contractors.
  8. Ensure engineering calculations and drawings comply with industry and legal standards.
  9. Make daily decisions on project progress and liaise directly with clients, providing advice as needed.
  10. Implement risk and performance monitoring systems through effective internal controls and delegation.
  11. Lead the coordination of engineering services, adopting a holistic approach to engineering concepts and solutions.
  12. Support project delivery in line with RED’s Project Delivery Process, covering project management, financial management, QA/QC, and technical review.

Role Requirements

  1. BSc/BEng in engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. MCIBSE/MIEE or HND/HNC with relevant experience or equivalent.
  3. Chartered Engineer status.
  4. Extensive experience in specification design for various building types.
  5. Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  6. Understanding of contract and business law.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office and calculation/spreadsheet software.
  8. Good knowledge of BS standards, UK regulations, and codes.
  9. Experience with invoicing and credit control.
  10. Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  11. Leadership, mentoring, and presentation skills.
  12. Experience in consulting or construction sectors.
  13. Understanding of international business operations within a global consultancy.
  14. Act ethically, adhering to the Group’s Ethics Charter and Guidelines.
