McGinley Support Services is a specialist recruitment agency providing the infrastructure industry with permanent, contract, and temporary staff at all levels. With nearly four decades of experience, they serve clients in Airports, Energy, Metro, Ports, Rail, Roads, Telecoms, Waste, and Water, supplying staff and labor nationally.

Position: Blue-Collar Rail Labour Manager / Recruitment Consultant

Based in Birmingham, this role involves managing a busy rail team on a high-volume contract. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in blue-collar rail labor supply or similar highly regulated, high-volume sectors. Extensive travel across the Central England region is required.

The Labour Manager/Recruitment Consultant's role is to supply, coordinate, and manage rail operatives to maximize contract profitability, ensuring the provision of necessary labor resources for project execution, safety, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Labour Management
    • Partner with projects to ensure the right mix of operatives is provided on time, from site setup through project completion.
    • Manage labor transfers locally and nationally.
    • Visit customer sites as per servicing plans.
    • Collect timesheets, PPE, tools, and equipment as needed.
    • Participate in on-call duties.
    • Review worker performance weekly and address issues.
    • Complete and send KPI reports weekly to clients.
  2. Sales and Account Management
    • Develop new and existing business opportunities.
    • Promote all grades of workers and support services, on temporary, contract, or permanent basis.
    • Maintain strong client relationships through regular contact and site visits.
    • Recruit for various grades as contract needs evolve.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience in high-volume recruitment.
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and preferably RDB Pro database.
  • Interest in infrastructure services.
  • Flexibility to assist team members.
  • PTS ACDC/DCCR card is desirable.
