A leading MSP based in Central London is seeking an experienced Head of Project Management Office to join its highly accredited operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the Project Managers, Client Onboarding, and Projects Engineering Teams.
- Managing a team comprising 1 Senior Project Manager and 1 Project Manager.
- Leading a Projects Engineering team of 7 engineers (including TDE, PDE, SharePoint Specialist, Security Apprentice) and 2 Heads of Services.
- Balancing technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a strong focus on successful project delivery, preferably within a Managed IT Services environment using PRINCE2 practices.
- Running technical staff and delivering managed IT projects within an MSP IT Service Environment.
- Mandatory presence of 3 days in the office to drive the team and department forward.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Senior Leadership and Technical Leadership Teams.
- Collaborate with PMO & Projects Engineering Teams to improve Client Onboarding and Managed IT Project delivery.
- Report directly to the CTO/Executive Management Team.
- Develop long-term goals for the PMO team and engineering resources.
- Review and implement PMO processes and procedures for consistent project management.
- Oversee resource allocation and management across projects.
- Provide resource forecasting methodologies for project managers.
- Manage a portfolio of projects including Client Onboarding and key client projects.
- Ensure project quality management based on client feedback and continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO.
- Organize project socials to foster team bonding.
- Coordinate operational handovers with the Helpdesk Manager as needed.
Skills:
- Hands-on technical experience managing engineering teams for Managed IT Projects.
- Knowledge of PRINCE2 framework.

Experience:
- Strong understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies (Teams, Azure).
- Experience managing IT Security Projects using Microsoft services.
- At least 3+ years in a similar role, preferably within a UK MSP environment.
- Experience with ITSM tools such as ConnectWise, BrightGauge, SmileBack, ITBoost, ServiceNow.
Qualifications:
- Degree in an IT-related subject.
- PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification.
- Microsoft Certifications are a plus.
