Business Support Assistant – Darlington

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our admin team as a Business Support Assistant. This role involves working as part of a team of three, collaborating to deliver excellent results while demonstrating a positive can-do attitude.

This is a hybrid, full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5 pm, with two days each week in either the Harrogate or Darlington office, depending on your location. You will receive on-the-job training from a highly experienced team and ongoing additional support.

What You Will Do as a Business Support Assistant

Reporting to the Admin Team Leader, you should be a keen learner ready to start immediately and eager to learn more about the insurance industry. Alternatively, this role may suit someone looking to enhance their existing knowledge and experience in the field.

Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Managing new and existing business inboxes, ensuring broker information is accurately entered into our systems and appropriately assigned to underwriters.
  2. Issuing policy documents, communicating with underwriters and brokers, and handling ad-hoc requests as they arise.
What We Are Looking For in a Business Support Assistant

You may already have experience in the insurance, financial, or risk sectors, or you may be seeking a career change. Previous administrative or clerical experience is highly desirable. You should be comfortable working within our SLAs and delivering results within specified timescales. We value suggestions for process improvements and solutions-oriented thinking.

Strong communication skills, team collaboration, and the ability to support underwriters effectively are essential. Proficiency with MS Office packages and familiarity with in-house database systems are also required.
