Job Description:

Leader Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) to work within an SEMH school based in North Shields, North Tyneside. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs and supporting in a classroom environment, along with a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential.

At Leader Education, the normal working pattern is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, and it is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

• Have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one
• Have effective behaviour management strategies
• Monitor and manage students' behaviour and wellbeing
• Support the students' emotional wellbeing
• Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
• Assist with developing and implementing Individual Learning Plans/Behaviour Management Plans or similar
