Job description

Are you a commercially driven Sales Director with experience operating at board level? Do you have a strong background in both service and manufacturing, and a passion for driving commercial success? If so, this could be the opportunity for you. A market leader in the Door Industry is looking for a commercially focused Sales Director to join their executive team. This is a board-level role with responsibility for shaping and executing the company's sales and commercial strategy across its manufacturing and service divisions. They offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package circa to 80k+ (Open to discussion) with a Company Car Scheme, Bonus, and much more.

Key Responsibilities of the Sales Director:
  1. Take responsibility for all commercial sales across the business.
  2. Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve company goals and objectives in accelerating the growth of the business.
  3. Assess the commercial environment to create detailed business plans on opportunities in new markets and for new products.
  4. Take ownership of maximising cross-selling opportunities across the business.
  5. Generate downstream sales from installation and servicing activities.
  6. Negotiate the best contract terms with existing and potential new customers.
  7. Develop pricing strategies to maximise quote conversion rates, balancing profitability, risk, and business strategy.
  8. Manage the activities of internal and external sales resources to meet growth targets. Identify new target markets to support expansion strategies.
  9. Collaborate with the Board to develop geographical growth strategies that balance return, resources, and risk.
Requirements of the Sales Director:

The Sales Director should develop and maintain effective relationships at all levels within the business. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to listen to stakeholder needs and articulate ideas effectively.

The successful candidate will typically possess:

  • Board-level experience.
  • Experience in the Auto or Industrial Door Industry.
  • Strategic experience with strong negotiation skills.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Extensive customer account management experience.
  • Strong organisational skills to prioritise workload and meet deadlines supporting business growth.
  • Project management experience, including risk assessments.
  • Financial reporting and pricing strategy expertise.
  • Knowledge of Door Industry legislations and regulations.
