Multimillion turnover, market-leading ambient food wholesale business supplying to grocery retailers and trade.
The Job
Reporting to the MD and managing a sales team of 5, specific responsibilities will include:
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitors. Analyze customer needs and assess market demand for products.
- Meet with prospective new customers as well as existing customer accounts to identify strategic opportunities that align with new business growth objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to expand the customer base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients for new business opportunities.
- Regularly review objectives and sales targets, and work towards achieving or exceeding them. Develop pricing strategies and negotiate contracts with clients.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and have an in-depth knowledge of the Company’s products and services.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network with potential clients and partners. Build and nurture relationships with key industry stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed proposals and quotations for new business opportunities from existing and potential clients. Customize product offerings based on customer requirements.
- Negotiate and draft contract terms and conditions with clients.
- Prepare regular sales and business development reports for the leadership team. Analyze sales data and trends to make informed business decisions.
- Ensure sales activities comply with legal and ethical standards. Uphold the Company’s reputation and values in all interactions.
- Supervise and motivate team members, manage performance, and assist with people management issues.
- Support with projects and other initiatives as required.
The Candidate
- Previous experience in a Sales Director or Sales leadership role with proven leadership skills to motivate and develop team members.
- Ability to develop and execute sales strategies, win new business, and manage key stakeholder relationships to successfully meet sales targets.
- Proven sales and business development skills, including negotiation, closing deals, and securing contracts.
- Commercial agility to adapt strategies in response to changing circumstances, overcome challenges, and seize new opportunities.
- Success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and building long-term client relationships.
- Ability to conduct market research, analyze data, and identify trends for informed decision-making.
- Clean driving license and ability to travel for client visits and other role requirements.
The Package
Salary £90,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Pension
